Watching Aviron Bayonnais: getting to the ground and where to stay
Updated on Monday 19 October 2026
Coming over to watch Aviron Bayonnais? The studio, in Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx, is about 12 km from Stade Jean-Dauger, an 18-minute drive outside rush hour. It makes a quiet base for a rugby weekend, with Bayonne and the Basque coast on the doorstep.
Aviron Bayonnais in the Top 14
Aviron Bayonnais play in the Top 14, the French top flight, in 2026-2027. The regular season started on 5 September 2026 and ends on the weekend of 5 June 2027; the final is on 26 June 2027 at the Stade de France.
Match dates and kick-off times are set during the season by the French rugby league (LNR), so check the fixtures on top14.lnr.fr before you book your trip.
Stade Jean-Dauger
Stade Jean-Dauger is on Avenue Fernand Forgues in Bayonne. It holds 13,507 spectators across the Honneur, Est, Nord and Europcar stands.
- Tickets: from the club's official ticket office (billetterie.abrugby.fr), which also runs an exchange for resale tickets. On match days, ticket windows open at the Honneur and Est stands.
- Wheelchair spaces: book in advance with the club, at a reduced price.
- Practical information: abrugby.fr, under "Billetterie" and "Venir au stade" (in French).
Getting to the ground from the studio
By car (about 12 km, 18 minutes): take the A63 to exit 6 (Bayonne-Nord), then the D810 to Avenue Fernand Forgues. The club lists several car parks around the ground:
- covered, paying: Tour de Sault, Sainte-Claire, Paulmy;
- open-air, paying: Lauga, La Baignade and Champ de Foire, among others;
- free: La Floride.
By bus: Txik Txak line 24 runs from Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx (Place Jean Rameau stop, a 7-minute walk from the studio) to Bayonne train station in about 25 minutes. At the station, take line 5 or line 30 (Gare de Bayonne Parvis stop) to Pont du Génie, then walk about 400 m to the main entrance. Note that line 24 only runs Monday to Saturday, roughly 7 am to 8 pm, with no buses on Sundays: for an evening or Sunday match, a car is much easier. More in our guide to getting here and around.
By bike: there are bike racks at the Lauga car park, next to the ground.
Before or after the match
Bayonne's old town is about 1 km from the ground, a 15-minute walk. Our guide to visiting Bayonne covers the highlights.
If you are staying for the weekend, make time for the coast: Biarritz and the Basque coast are half an hour from the studio, and the beaches near Bayonne less than 20 minutes away.
Biarritz Olympique, the other local club
In Biarritz, Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque play in the Pro D2 (the French second division) at the Parc des Sports d'Aguiléra, about 17 km from the studio (25 minutes by car). Tickets on the club's official website (bo-pb.com).
